Access Control Systems

Access Control Systems are central to today's integrated security systems and are an alternative to yesterday's locks and keys.

Access control systems do more than just lock or unlock a door. They can:

  • Prevent unauthorized entries through doors and designated alarm points.
  • Monitor and record all activity around a protected facility 24 hours a day.
  • Allow instant access changes to doors and alarm points using a PC connected to an access control network.
  • Report event-triggered activity and alarms to CCTV Camera Call-Ups, pager messages, or video clips written to a storage device.

Standard features include badge imaging, floor plans, remote dial-up and CCTV control.

Access system data can be integrated into corporate back office functions like Human Resources, Cafeteria/Food Service, Computer/Information Security, or other specific applications. Whether your system is a two-reader commercial application or 15,000 readers spread across the globe, the integration professionals at Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies can help with all your installation, service, or design application needs.

Enterprise Access Control Systems

Enterprise Access Control Systems can be controlled and monitored from a centralized security office, with satellite offices throughout the world. Each site is connected to a server using TCP/IP over a 100baseT Network. The server receives and records all activity. As events and alarms occur, they are prioritized, switched to the outputs of a matrix switcher, and displayed on alarm call-up monitors.

Enterprise systems have real time control and can be monitored and responded to by remote security on a real time basis. From the security office, doors can be unlocked or locked and alarms can be silenced. Digital recorders monitor activity for cameras that use a 30 second buffer on their alarms, and during pixel changes or motion detection in specified areas. Corporate headquarters has a live account of what is happening at all locations at all times.
